Scarlet in Flight was inspired by a book cover (The Aviary Cocktail Book) that's been sitting on my coffee table for a couple of years. I've been staring at the black cover with its rainbow of covers and slowly a vision for a piece has been forming. After a couple of attempts, I've finally been able to capture how the progression and movement of colors make me feel in Scarlet in Flight. I just love the vibrancy of the colors, the movement in the center of the painting and the depth and solitude evoked by in the blues and reds on the fringes. The name Scarlet in Flight comes from the painting evoking movements of the feathers of the scarlet macaw. I'm in love. SOLD
